I believe GBA flash carts use an emulator, so you need to open a menu by pressing L+R and press "exit" or "restart" after saving. This is how it works on an Everdrive at least.
I can see it getting annoying later on when the factory is 50% conveyors, yeah.
Game is great so far! Weirdly, the player character is only affected by conveyors when the crank is in motion, though.
Absolutely rad!
Make sure you don't move you sticks while the controller is connecting, that could be your issue.
